Arsenal is on the verge of finalizing a deal to transfer Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have tabled a £25million transfer bid plus £5million in add-ons for the striker.

Nketiah has reportedly agreed personal terms with Palace and the Gunners are expected to accept the proposal.

It comes just days after the 25-year-old looked set to join Nottingham Forest in a move also worth up to £30million.

However, the deal collapsed at the final hurdle after Nketiah decided against making the switch to the City Ground.

He’s instead opted to stay in London and now looks set to head to Selhurst Park, according to The Athletic.

‘Contract in place, salary agreed and final details being sorted to prepare all docs,’ said transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. ‘Club to club agreement getting closer.’

Marseille had also shown interest in Nketiah earlier in the window but pulled out of the deal after Arsenal refused to budge on their £30m asking price.

The French club made an offer of up to £23m which was rejected by Edu and co despite Nketiah being keen on the idea of playing in Ligue 1.

It looks like Arsenal will now bring in the fee they were holding out for originally, albeit through add-ons.

Nketiah’s exit will bring to an end his nine-year spell at the club after joining the Arsenal youth academy from Chelsea in 2015.

He’s scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions and also netted five times in 19 games during a six-month loan spell at Leeds United in the first half of the 2019-20 season.

The England international has struggled for minutes at Emirates Stadium in recent months and is keen to seek regular football.
