New Delhi: Jalal Yunus, the former chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operations and board director, has officially resigned from his position, effective immediately. He confirmed his resignation to Cricbuzz on Monday.
His resignation comes during the governmental changes following student protests that ousted Awami League government on August 5.
“I have resigned from the board for the interest of cricket,” Jalal said. He is the first director to step down from the current board, which has been under scrutiny since the government’s change following the student protests that led to the Awami League’s resignation on August 5.
Further changes are anticipated within the board, as BCB president Nazmul Hasan has also expressed his intention to resign from his position to prioritize the interests of cricket and work in cooperation with the government.
