New Delhi: Sanju Samson is currently showcasing his skills on the cricket tour of South Africa with Team India. He made headlines with an outstanding century in the first match of the series. However, amidst the celebrations, his father Vishwanath's strong statement accusing MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid of hindering his son's career for the past ten years has sparked controversy. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised doubts about the necessity of such a statement.

In fact, in a video shared on his YouTube channel Aakash Chopra, the former Indian opener raised the question of whether it was necessary for Samson’s father to criticize Kohli, Dhoni, Rohit and Dravid.

Chopra said, ‘Sanju Samson’s father has said a very interesting thing. He added ‘ji’ after the names of Kohli, Dhoni, Rohit and Dravid and said that these people ruined 10 years of his son’s career. I am thinking and honestly say whether this is necessary?’

Chopra gave his own example and said that fathers always have a biased attitude towards their children. He said that since I am a father, I can tell you that fathers are biased. Our children are the dearest to us and we do not see any shortcomings in them. The same would be true for my father. He would be saying that wrong happened with Aakash and he should have got more opportunities.

Along with this, Chopra also gave the example of Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh and said that let go of what has happened, what will you get by digging up old graves.

“If you dig a grave, you will only find a skeleton” – Aakash Chopra

In the same video, Aakash Chopra urged Sanju Samson’s father to let his son focus on his game when he is performing well.

Chopra said,

If you dig a grave, you will only find a skeleton. You will not get anything else. What will you do with that skeleton? When the child is playing well, let him play. I know that you were in Delhi, left your job, went to Kerala, invested your whole life in Sanju and you are emotionally biased but let it be.
